Regarding the General Conference Vote on Homosexuality
Early in 2019, the United Methodist Church voted by a narrow margin to enforce denominational practices regarding homosexuality, disallowing the marriage of same-sex couples and the ordination of openly gay and lesbian clergy. First Church strongly disagrees with this vote and has decided along with 2/3 of American churches to actively oppose it. We want to be very clear we will always be a safe and affirming place for all of God's LGBTQ+ children, period.
First Church is now on an external database of LGBTQ+ affirming churches! Check it out here!
