He came into the store behind me and I stole a look at him over the coffee kiosk. Nothing about him appeared friendly as he moved hurriedly to get his food and beverage. No one else seemed to want to get in his way either! If Moses could part the Red Sea, this guy could part the masses. I stood behind him in line and could not help but wonder what all of the trappings meant. He had a flag around his head which seemed to indicate that he was committed to his country. The


The Cure for Impatience
After much thought, I have finally decided that the cure for impatience is riding on the train during rush hour! Please note that while the term “riding” is not meant to imply that there will be any sitting involved. It means that you will be transported from one location to another, hopefully in the same number of pieces that you started with. Why do I advocate a train ride at rush hour to cure impatience? For one thing, a train ride at rush hour affords you the opportunity


Snow Flower
The snow fell slowly at first, like the notes of Pachelbel's Canon, bringing calm to the mind's eye. In just a few minutes, there was a change and what had once been light was now heavy. The snow that was a vision of beauty, became a sight chaotic, a source of anxiety for people who lost power or were in a car accident. I wanted so much to be that person who parked far away from a store to leave spaces for other patrons, to let people in line ahead of me, rather than cuttin


The Red Stilleto
As she stepped out of the car, she placed her red stilleto firmly on the ground. Just then, we saw a burley looking man glaring at her who snapped, "you have to be handicapped to park in that spot." She smiled at him, kindly, and replied, "Well, thank you." With that, she reached for her crutches and slid out of the car, standing on one red stilleto. To this day, I don't know how many shades of red that man's face turned once he realized that she was an "amputee." This o
